If the following sounds like a good day at work, then this job might be for you!

  • Provide one-on-one coaching as well as lead group fitness classes
  • Design fitness programs while building relationships with our members
  • Deliver exceptional health and fitness programs and services as per YMCA Health Coaching standards and best practices
  • Have an interest in working within our Health Promotion Programs (older adults/chronically ill)
  • Instruct drop-in group fitness classes
  • Ensure safety of all members, participants, staff, and property by following YMCA standards/policies/procedures and ensuring they are maintained amongst all members and staff
  • Actively participate in and promote philanthropy through the YMCA Association initiatives

 

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • Current Weight training/Personal Training Certificate by a recognized governing body (e.g. BCRPA, CFES, CSEP)
  • Current Standard First-Aid with CPR-C certification
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Group Fitness Instruction Certification is an asset (e.g. Cycle, Aqua, Strength, Yoga)
  • A degree in Human Kinetics or related field is an asset

  • Relationship Building and Collaboration: Builds positive interactions, listens attentively and communicates effectively to create an open communication environment. Share information, best practices, and resources with colleagues.
