The Thompson Rivers University Library is seeking a tenure-track Law and Indigenous Services Librarian. This position will be responsible for building relationships and services to support Thompson Rivers University’s Indigenous Students and Faculty and to support library services to the Faculty of Law. We expect that the specific work included in this position will be developed by the successful candidate in collaboration with campus partners, especially in Indigenous Education, the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching and the Faculty of Student Development. The incumbent will have a demonstrated record of building trust and relationships with Indigenous community members and will advise on library-wide decolonization and reconciliation initiatives.
This position, situated on the traditional lands of the Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc within Secwépemc'ulucw, the traditional and unceded territory of the Secwépemc, is located at the main TRU Kamloops campus and may include service to the Williams Lake Campus on the lands the T’exelc, within Secwépemc'ulucw, the traditional and unceded territory of the Secwépemc.
The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of library professionals and will actively participate in helping the library to achieve its vision, mission, values, and goals. As a faculty member, the candidate will actively pursue professional and service activities to meet library and campus-wide criteria for tenure and promotion.
