Starting Salary: $20.00/hour

The Opportunity:

This is an opportunity to work alongside Parkland’s Talent Management team located in Calgary, AB and to gain experience in talent sourcing, employee engagement, and workplace inclusion. Importantly, you will contribute to projects that will advance Parkland’s commitments set out in the Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations program created by the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business. 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of Parkland’s Diversity & Inclusion Strategy.
  • Support the implementation of Parkland’s  Indigenous Talent Sourcing Strategy.
  • Support Parkland’s Indigenous Employee Resource Group (ERG)  by helping to coordinate in-person and virtual events and initiatives.
  • Write blog articles for Parkland’s intranet and help to create toolkits and resource guides.
  • Support the collection and reporting of Indigenous-related data.
  • Conduct research related to Indigenous Relations in Canada, and potentially the United States and Caribbean.
  • Help organize Parkland’s participation in career fairs and career-related events and initiatives.

Education:

Must be currently enrolled in a relevant post-secondary program such as Human Resources, Indigenous Studies, Business, Communications, or another related field, and for the duration of the term.

Requirements:

  • Available for a 4-month Summer term beginning in May 2025.
  • Lived experience or deep knowledge of Indigenous culture, history, and governance.
  • Experience working directly or indirectly with Indigenous communities and/or organizations is an asset.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong data analysis and report writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint)
